What to expect at Rise

Rise is a guided-to-freeform journey: we arrive, ground, and warm up together, then move into an open dance wave—no choreography, no talking on the dance floor, and lots of room to listen to your body. New here? Come as you are; you’ll be welcomed.

Rise FAQ

Quick answers for newcomers and regulars.

Do I need dance experience?

Nope. Ecstatic dance is about listening to your body—there’s no choreography and no “right way” to move.

What should I wear/bring?

Comfortable layers you can sweat in, plus water. Many dancers bring a small towel.

Is it okay to talk on the dance floor?

We keep the dance floor nonverbal so everyone can drop in. Save conversations for before/after.

Can I come late or leave early?

Yes—life happens. If you arrive late, enter quietly and take a moment to land before joining the wave.

Is there partner dance or contact?

Mostly solo freeform. Organic connection can happen, but consent and clear nonverbal communication are essential.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes. Please complete the waiver before your first visit so check-in stays easy and the music can start on time.
