What to expect

Each month we gather for a guided arc: arrival + warm-up, a short opening circle, a long-form DJ set, and a closing integration. You’re invited to move in your own way—dance big, dance subtle, rest when you need, and connect with the room when it feels right.

Dance guidelines (the container)

Consent & boundaries

Ask first, listen for a clear yes/no, and honor personal space. You can change your mind at any time.

No talking on the dance floor

Let movement be the conversation. Save catching up for before/after so everyone can drop in.

Bare feet or dance shoes

Choose what feels safe and grounded for you. Please keep the floor clean and comfortable for all.

Plan your visit

Everything you need for a smooth first (or fiftieth) dance—what to bring, how to arrive, and ways to stay connected.

Bring

Water bottle, comfy layers, and anything that helps you feel grounded (journal, light snack for after).

Arrive

Come a bit early to park, sign in, and settle. Late arrivals are welcome—enter quietly and join the flow.

Care

Take breaks, hydrate, and listen to your body. This is movement meditation—no performance required.

Connect

Say hi in the lobby, join community updates, and check the calendar for weekly + special events.

Monthly dance FAQ

New here? These are the questions we hear most often.

Do I need dance experience?

Nope. Ecstatic dance is for all bodies and all levels—move however you move. You can also not move (but please sit at the edges of the space and leave the center for dancing).

Is this a class or a party?

It’s a held, intentional dance space—like a party without alcohol, with a focus on presence and respect.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can sweat in. Layers are great for warm-up and cool-down.

Can I come solo?

Absolutely. Many people arrive on their own and find community over time. Although there may be some contact dancing (with clear consent), the core of this practice is solo dance, unencumbered by judgement.

Is there a waiver?

Yes—please complete the waiver before your first visit to speed up check-in.

Where do I find dates, times, and location?

We keep the latest details on the Phoenix Dance Calendar. If anything is unclear, reach out and we’ll help. Eventually. Be patient because we aren’t paid.

Fill out your waiver before you arrive

A quick pre-event waiver helps check-in move smoothly so we can get to the dancing sooner.
