  an ecstatic dance becomes an improvisation?\n\nMonday Improvisations expl
 ores the territory where ecstatic dance\, contact improvisation\, DJing\, 
 and live music meet.\n\nThe journey begins with a relatively quick ascent 
 in BPM—an invitation to leave the verbal mind behind and arrive fully in
  the body.\n\nAfter the first climb\, the music descends.\n\nThe BPM slows
 . The bass deepens. The sound gets stranger.\n\nWe enter a darker\, more i
 ntimate landscape designed to create room for contact improvisation\, conn
 ection\, experimentation\, and play.\n\nThis middle territory is the heart
  of Monday nights.\n\nThe DJ isn't simply playing for the room. Live music
 ians enter the soundscape and improvise with the DJ. Dancers respond to th
 em. Musicians respond to the dancers. The DJ responds again.\n\nWhat emerg
 es is something nobody completely controls.\n\nAs the journey continues\, 
 the musical boundaries open: deep bass\, electronic textures\, unusual rhy
 thms\, percussion\, global music\, jazz\, classical music\, acoustic instr
 uments\, voice\, and live improvisation can all enter the same landscape.\
 nConsent Is Part of the Dance\nContact improvisation is always opt-in.\n\n
 You don't need a partner. You don't need to touch anyone. And coming to Mo
 nday Improvisations never constitutes consent to being touched.\n\nWe invi
 te dancers to practice consent as another form of embodied listening.\n\nI
 nvite rather than assume.\n\nOffer a hand. Make eye contact. Ask.\n\nLeave
  room for the other person's body to say yes—or no.\n\nA yes to a dance 
 isn't necessarily a yes to close contact\, lifts\, weight sharing\, intima
 te touch\, or whatever comes next. Consent remains alive throughout an int
 eraction and can change at any moment.\n\nWe also invite everyone to pract
 ice communicating their own boundaries.\n\nMove away. Shake your head. Say
  “no.” Say “stop.” Say “not that.” Say “yes.”\n\nNo explan
 ation is required.\n\nAnd when someone gives you a no\, receive it gracefu
 lly. A no isn't a failed interaction. It is successful communication. You 
 have given this person the gift of maintaining their boundary...feel good 
 about that.\n\nYour responsibility for communicating your own boundaries n
 ever excuses someone else from seeking and respecting consent.\n\nWe want 
 a room where people can become adventurous precisely because boundaries ar
